CENTENNIAL BOOK REVIEW IN THE FALL OF 2007
We invite you to join this community-wide project   

Inspired by the folks in Bristow who love books...love storytelling and storytellers, and literature of all varieties... who regularly attend Bristow's popular book review-- a noon-time gathering at the Bristow Memorial Library each month where authors talk about their books...

A group of Oklahomans created a unique project for our state's 100th birthday celebration in 2007, called Heart of the Heartland Project and a special, featured event:

The Bristow Memorial Library
and

Heart of the Heartland/Friends of the Library Special Book and Film Project One

WILL PRESENT A SPECIAL, CENTENNIAL YEAR BOOK REVIEW

of

The Heart of Heartland Commemorative Edition Project Book: "A Small American Town Leads A Big Conversation in Honor Of Their State's 100th Birthday" * Which features Bristow Oklahoma and Friends from many other towns and cities across Oklahoma, and will be reviewed by a panel of community leaders from Bristow
(*working title)                                                                                             

Activities Leading up to this featured event and currently in progress are:

•   Establishment of a special collection of books/films for the Bristow Memorial Library

•   Book bags/shirts/posters, signed by the town artists, which will go on sale at the project

•   Publicity for the project at the town centennial events

•   A reading circle to explore the books for the special collection

•   An academic weblog online to discuss the books/films shared in the reading circle

•   Prep for an additional conference/mini/-course

•   Prep for the book itself and special design for the book review

•   Filming, on-going, for our library archives and documentary of the project endeavor
